LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a vision correction surgery that permanently changes the shape of the cornea using an excimer laser. In simple words, LASIK is the technique of using excimer laser to adjust the shape of the cornea to treat vision defects such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
